I’m on a roll! Here are some things that happened on day four (August 9th)…
Janet and I went for another early morning run. [I’m sorry to say that this was the last time I ran at all…just.don’t.want.to.run.] This time we ran to Harbour Town. I am going to say I took the following picture WHILE I was running and that must account for my crazy face.
It was about 1.5 miles to the end of the pier, so we stopped a second to take pictures and stretch.
When we got back to the turn-off onto our condo’s street Janet peeled off, but I felt pretty good, so I added one more mile for a total of four miles.
This morning we spotted a gator in the lagoon behind our condo.
Lots of excitement ensued and everybody had to rush out to get a glimpse.
Next up on today’s agenda was a shopping trip to the nearby outlet mall (another one of our Hilton Head traditions…Grandma always buys the boys new tennis shoes for the school year, among other things). Cody was ready to go!
I gave him those cute little red Chuck Taylor’s for his birthday.
The little turnip outfit was a favorite of mine when the boys wore it (and it was a hand-me-down that somebody gave me), so I love seeing it on Cody. Janet said it is one of her favorites also.
Janet and I wore our soda t-shirts.
I spotted these in Target and immediately thought of her because she has always loved Mello Yello. So I got that one for her and of course had to get one for me also. Grape soda was always my favorite when I was a kid.
Off to the outlet mall!
One of our favorite stops was the Crocs store. Here is Cody modeling his new Crocs (his old ones barely squeezed onto his little fat feet).
Everybody got new Crocs except Grandma. Here are the ones for our pod:
Although you can’t really tell, taking this picture was torturous:
The sun was glaring and the boys didn’t want to cooperate. I might have yelled. But I got the photo!
We had lunch at Subway.
Then it was back to Sea Pines.
In the afternoon Mom, Mack and I went for a bike ride to Harbour Town.
Mack and Grandma hit up the playground first.
Grandma Viv is always up for anything.
It was super hot, so we decided to enjoy an ice cream from Cups & Cones, the little shop right at the base of the lighthouse.
Mack was smart and got a cup, while Mom and I had ice cream dripping from our cones all over us within minutes.
Well, these are all the things I documented in photos on day four, so I’m not sure what else happened for the rest of the day…
but I know it involved family, relaxation and fun. I’m more than half way through with these vacation posts now!
