Busy Fun Weekend Recap, Part 2

October 24, 2011 at 4:24 pm

In Part 1 of my Busy Fun Weekend Recap I left off with us returning home from Hunsader Farms Pumpkin Festival. When we got home I put on my Halloween costume, some friends picked me up, and we headed to our monthly Secret Society meeting (you can see posts about previous Secret Society meetings by clicking “Secret Society” in the tag cloud in the sidebar over there). The theme this month was “True Blood” for those in the Society who watch it, or “Witches, Vampires, Werewolves and Fairies” for those who don’t. I dressed as a fairy…or as “Sookie” for those of you who watch True Blood. Mack said I was dressing as a fairy who is a waitress. Check.

This was definitely one of our crazier Society meetings, or maybe it just felt that way to me since I wasn’t driving.

and maybe a little too much TruBlood.

As a result, I felt like this on Sunday morning…

but I figured I could feel like that at home, or feel like that at the gym…

so I hauled my butt and my children to the gym for 25 minutes on the elliptical and Bodypump.

The gym didn’t make me feel any better, but taking a two and a half hour nap afterwards did. Luckily I was feeling better just in time to head to St. Raphael’s Fall Festival with the family. St. Raphael’s is a Catholic church and school in my neighborhood and I often mention it on the blog because it is on one of my main running and biking routes (to downtown). We love this festival since it is right in our back yard.

There was frog-hopping…

However, our finale to the St. Raphael’s festival, the Ferris wheel, is my favorite part.

I just love all those sky-high views of our neighborhood.

and finally Mack’s impromptu expression on the Ferris wheel.

Obviously, we had fun. After the festival we decided to go to Evo’s for dinner. They have really good, somewhat healthier, environmentally conscious fast food.

They also have good ketchup karma (and just really good ketchup in general).
20111023-IMG_4698

We must have had good karma because as an added bonus, the boys’ dinners were FREE (and we didn’t know they would be when we decided to go there)!

Thus endeth our crazy busy fun weekend. I’m not sure we can top this next weekend, but we’ll try.
