What a day. I worried. I ran. I sweated. I high-fived. I hugged. I laughed. I cried. It was amazing. Thank you to all my friends and family for the amazing support via text, e-mail, Twitter, Facebook and this blog. Wahhhh. I’m going to cry again.
I finished the half marathon in 2:49:41.
I placed 2,790th out of 3,901 finishers. In my age group (40-44) I placed 493rd out of 685. My running team, the IRunMommies placed 22nd out of 50 teams. For the Team Awards (just compiling the top five runners from each team) we were in 15th place out of 50.
Here is the experience in photos…some taken by me and some taken by Chad. I attempted to put them in chronological order. I have many more photos! I don’t think I can limit this experience to just one blog post. But anyway…here you go.
p.s. My friend Amy gave me a great tip for improving my time…don’t stop at every mile marker to take a picture! I don’t know. That doesn’t sound like nearly as much fun.
