Grandma’s here Tuesday
Sunday night the boys and I picked up my Mom at the St. Pete/Clearwater airport.

Mom texted me when their plane touched down, but Mack was too impatient to wait for her to get off the plane.

He had to text her back.

Mack was the first one to spot her come through the door.

Chad made shepherd’s pie for dinner and we took it easy because we had big plans for yesterday.
Legoland!

We rode all the rides…

and saw all the amazing Lego creations…

Chad had to work, so it was great to have Mom there as an additional adult.

I have a gazillion photos from Legoland, and I hope to write a separate post just about our day there. Until then, I wanted to get caught up on the day to day.
This morning I went for a five mile run.

It was tough because my legs felt tired from walking and standing all day yesterday at Legoland. They felt like tree trunks, but I ploughed through at a slow pace with just a few walking breaks.

It was a beautiful morning and when I got back to my house Mom and Mack were shooting hoops in my neighbor’s driveway.

My Mom played basketball in high school.
After I got home from running we got all our stuff together and headed to North Shore Pool.

I was really proud of Cal. He did 200 yards of freestyle and his stroke looked much better than the last time we swam laps. He did an addition 100 yards later because Mack and Mom were chasing him.
I swam 1000 yards of my improvised 400 IMs, and it felt great to get an upper body workout and not have to rely on my legs so much. They are spent.

It was a gorgeous day to be at the pool and it wasn’t very crowded at all.
My awesome Mom took the boys to karate this afternoon and that is the only reason that a blog post is getting written. We have been going non-stop since she got here! Between the pool and karate we went to Publix and then my Mom and Mack took Chewie for a walk down to the park. Busy day.
I hope my legs aren’t completely spent because I’m meeting up with the IRunMommies and Christie of Karna Fitness for three miles of interval running and a Restore the Core class. Something tells me I will sleep well tonight.
The beach got postponed until tomorrow so we could go with friends. Gotta make the most of spring break and of Grandma Viv’s visit! We are definitely wearing her out (and wearing me out). It’s a good thing that she is in good shape and works out!

hey Caroline! You and your mom are so pretty!!! Mack looks like such a sweetie-pie! What precious memories, so wonderful that your mom is in great shape-very young at heart!! Enjoy your week!!
You and your mother have the same smile!
That first hug at the airport doors? I think I could hear the impact of it from here! What a wonderful treat to have Grandma – fun, cute, active, interested Grandma – come visit for a whole week! Lucky
