Candy, Eggs, and Weapons
Last night, as per our tradition, the boys put their empty Easter baskets out on the porch so that the Easter Bunny would be able to find them.

Then this morning they searched the back porch…

and sure enough they found them all loaded up with loot…

including big weapons.

I guess the theme of this Easter was recreational violence.

They also got books and videos and Legos and candy. Easter is pretty much the same as Christmas around here, but with a smaller budget and jelly beans.

I made pancakes for breakfast and then we headed outside for the traditional egg hunt with our neighbors, the Z’s.

And…go!

As always, for some reason, we started in their yard…

and then headed over to our yard.

And…go again!

It’s a good thing that the Easter Bunny sends e-mails to parents detailing where every egg is hidden, or we would probably have been out there all morning. Some hints were necessary to make sure all the eggs were found.
It was a gorgeous morning (very sunny)…

and I think it was the first Easter in many years when it wasn’t already hot outside at 9:00 a.m. This cold front is so lovely.
Once we came back inside the boys opened a box from their grandparents.

They are so spoiled.

Someone knows what Cal likes. Thanks Gramma, Paw and Nana!
Now we’re just relaxing and enjoying what’s left of the weekend. I think I’m going to see if I can pry some candy away from the boys. I should have put a basket out on the porch!

You’ll have to blog about what the boys make with the duct tape. It’s crazy what kids can make out of it these days! Happy easter!! oxox
Happy Easter to you too! Cal has already gone through probably 50 rolls of duct tape (all those in the post were just for him). He got a ton for Christmas. He has made so many things out of it already…full costumes, wallets (of course), covered all his notebooks. I can’t even think of all the things he has made with it. He loves the stuff.
Love the duct tape…and it is very insightful seeing your boys and what I have to look forward to with mine. Not so sure about the guns in the Easter baskets though. But I guess that’s a boy thing I will never understand
Hey, this one didn’t get caught in the spam filter! Yay! The whole gun thing is all on the Easter Bunny, as are the video games. We only celebrate Easter in a secular fashion anyway (with the bunny and all), but yeah, it’s weird.
