Yesterday afternoon I met up with the Tampa Bay Lady Bloggers in Curtis Hixon Park in downtown Tampa for some food, conversation, and yoga.
Everybody brought food to share.
I made those tortilla roll-up things (one was roast beef with horseradish and the other was olives and sundried tomatoes). Jules made one of the recipes from our TBLB book club selection this month…banana bread with chocolate chips and crystallized ginger. It was amazing and still warm!
Tori made homemade vegan oreos and wrapped them as party favors for us to take home. Overachiever!
I ate them for breakfast this morning and they were awesome. She also told us that regular oreos are vegan (but not nearly as good). Who knew?
We sat around and talked, mostly about blogging and running injuries, for about an hour and then got our yoga on.
All the tiers on the shady side of the park filled up by 6 p.m.
Yoga Downtown Tampa does the practice every Sunday for donations.
It was cool (only figuratively) to do yoga outside with a couple of hundred people.
Literally, it was hot and sweaty and challenging (for me), but I felt great afterwards. Thanks for organizing this meet-up Diana! I always really enjoy hanging out with the TBLB. Can’t wait for the next one!
After I got home from the TBLB meet-up I rinsed off the sweat, changed clothes, and headed over to my friend Barb’s house for the season premiere of True Blood! More food (I recycled my tortilla wraps for both events)…
and photos of pretty ladies in a dark room.
I was attacked by vampires…
Love you girls! Afterwards I headed home to my husband who I hardly saw over the weekend and crashed hard. Yesterday was a long day.
This morning started with swim team practice.
A sign of summer:
After swim team I made banana soft serve for the boys as a treat. I used the Yonanas contraption that I got for Christmas, which has been sitting in my laundry closet ever since.
I forgot to take a picture of the finished product, but Cal loved it. Mack said, “Eh, it’s bananas.” I promised to buy some chocolate syrup to make it more special next time. You can use any kind of frozen fruit, so next time I think I’ll include some berries. Cal wants it made with just strawberries.
We hung out at home through lunch and then decided to head out to yet another pool this afternoon with Joey Z. joining us. Fossil Park pool for the first time this summer. It was pretty crowded, as usual.
High dive action…
New bathing suit…
I got two new suits on clearance from swimoutlet.com . This one is a Nautica fashion-type suit and the other one is a sport/endurance type suit. Lots of good stuff in the clearance section on that site…check it out.
Thigh cam, of course.
Playing basketball with the big kids.
I really wanted a soda, but I was reminded that water is better.
We stayed at the pool until the end of the public swimming time, then headed home. Time to go make dinner (leftover chicken, roasted potatoes, broccoli). Family evening walk after Chad gets home. I think I will actually go with them since I haven’t had any exercise today. It feels like I haven’t walked with them in forever.
