Chevy Fit4Life Tour
A while ago my friend Christie of Karna Fitness shared an invitation to a fun event being hosted by GM in the Southeast.

I shared the event with my Tampa Bay Lady Bloggers friends, and between the IRunMommies and the TBLB, we pretty much filled up the available 20 spots! We all met at the Lifestyle Family Fitness in Hyde Park in Tampa. Christie was nice enough to drive Kimi and me from St. Pete.

It was so cool when we walked into the gym and I was surrounded by two of my favorite groups of ladies. My worlds collide!

We were led into the gym’s personal training area (this Lifestyle’s is so nice!) by the organizer of the event, Emily, jogging in the pink below:

Our bootcamp workout began with a “short” jog around Hyde Park. By “short”, I mean “long”, and by “around”, I mean “through” crowds of people and traffic. It was an adventure! I was reminded of how out of running shape I am.

Katie of A Full Plate in the front!
After our warm-up run we were led through a tough boot-camp style workout by Emily’s own personal trainer.

Christie, Julia (La Petite Maison Verte), me, Christie O. (Average Moms Wear Capes), Kimi (who deserves her own line of type)
In rotating circuits we did “V” sit ups…

Jess of Cuban Running Crisis in the pink skirt.
medicine ball slams:
Rachel of Runners Tales in the black.

good old-fashioned push-ups:

(L to R: Caitlyn of Live, Sweat, Sleep, Repeat; Beka of Rebecca Roams; Kat of Sneakers and Fingerpaints; Meghan of Little Girl in the Big World)
kettlebell swings:

We did one minute intervals at each station, then lined up for some more torture.

Thirty second intervals of burpees:

Walk up push-ups, then mountain climbers:

jumping lunges:

That was some intense cardio right there.

Next was another circuit of “walking” planks:

TRX lat pull-ups:

This rope thing (what do you call this?):

Kettlebell squats (okay, these are more photos of the swings…no pictures of the squats with a chest row):

Then we all lined up one more time for alternating lunges:
(Tori of In Love and Peanut Butter in the black in the foreground)

Emily’s little sister took all those photos with my camera!

We ended our bootcamp with a plank-off. My friend Christie was a contender, but Meghan took the prize!

After the bootcamp we all cleaned up (so nice of Chevy to provide us with goodie bags including soap, shampoo, and deodorant!) and headed outside to meet the awesome eco-friendly fleet of Chevy vehicles that we would take to our next stop. Look at this line-up!

I got the keys for this cute Chevy Sonic Turbo.

It was so nice inside!

I got to ride with Rachel and Jess, and we each drove one leg of the tour. We decided to give the OnStar navigation a try to get directions to our next stop. It was really cool to push one button on the rear-view mirror and instantly be connected to a real live person, hands-free, who was there to help us with whatever we needed!

We actually realized that we knew how to get to our next location, so we said thank you and hung up, but still…cool! This vehicle was sweet.

I drove first and was very careful. Rachel and Jess were fun traveling buddies.
Our next stop was lunch, and we were hungry. FitLife Foods for the win!

FitLife Foods creates fresh, healthy, refrigerated meals that can be picked up at the store or ordered online and picked up at various locations throughout Tampa Bay. They also have a Wellness Coach available to help with meal planning and to help customers reach their goals.

We all got to pick out a meal and had it heated up right in the shop.

My choices:

Delicious! The boys would have liked this meal.

We also got to take a Victory Bar for the road.

Before we left we got to get a sneak peak into the kitchen to see meals being assembled.

Thank you FitLife Foods!

Now that we were refreshed it was on to the next stop of our tour…Painting with a Twist!

A store front with mirrored windows? That can only mean…

IRunMommies unleashing their inner artist:

We all got aprons and canvases and took our seats.

This is the painting the group voted on to recreate:

The instructor led us through the steps…

Everyone’s painting reflected their own individual style.

Here’s the evolution of my painting:

I know, it’s hideous. My “more is more” philosophy took over and I couldn’t stop. Think the boys would like to hang this in their room?
We all had fun creating our masterpieces and hanging out.

Thanks Painting with a Twist!
The tour headed back to Lifestyles next. Some of the ladies were going on to Curtis Hixon Park for yoga, but Christie, Kimi, and I had other plans for the evening, so we said goodbye to all of our ChevyFit4Life friends at this point.

Thank you GM in the Southeast and Emily for this fun opportunity! It was a great day with some of my favorite people.
Stay tuned to see what Christie, Kimi, and I were up to next. Hint: it involved naked men.

Great recap of such a fun day! It was so nice to finally meet you and maybe we’ll get to chat more next time. Love all the pics too…hope you don’t mind me stealing the one of me running
Will credit you!
Please use any of the pictures. So nice to meet you in person!
You have been wowwing my socks off lately!
What a great day! Thanks you so much for allowing me the opportunity to join such amazing women/bloggers!
This is a great recap! Wow the details!! Thanks so much for sharing this fun opportunity. I really really appreciate it and had such a wonderful time!
Wow sounds like it was an awesome day
Reading this makes me want to eat some ice cream and then take a nap! STOP WITH THE EXERCISE! your making people who read your blogs insecure lolol
We have a FitLife Foods down the street. It’s a pretty neat place.
Looks like a great day – I’m surprised with a room full of bloggers that there weren’t more cameras in the background. What’s up with that?
haha. There were tons of cameras. Most of the ladies were just using their phones. We had a few DSLR’s going. There is one picture that one of the ladies took of all of our phones lined up at Painting with a Twist. Funny. During the workout it was pretty much just Christie O. taking photos, and Julie’s (the PR person) little sister taking pictures with my camera. Everyone was too busy working out!
What a great day and recap. Looks like every one had fun. Very nice of Chevy to do this and of course you are the best for sharing with TBLB.
