Today I couldn’t walk Mack to school because I had to be in north Tampa at 7:45 a.m., so I dropped him off at school and headed straight across the Howard Frankland Bridge. I got to see the sun rise over Tampa.
I packed my breakfast and ate it in the car on the 40 minute drive.
If you saw my last post then you know why I was heading to Tampa…
a trampoLEAN fitness class at Airheads Trampoline Arena! It was a really tough workout, but I had so much fun doing it with some of my Tampa Bay Blogger friends.
Be sure to check out the whole post about Airheads for a chance to win a pair of free passes to either a fitness class or a general bounce session!
We did lots of running (which sort of involved hurdles over the green borders between the trampolines) and my hip didn’t hurt despite running two miles the night before! I did notice that when we did one-leg exercises that my strength on my right side is much less than on my left. I need to go back to my PT exercises like hip dips on that side.
After all the bouncing I headed back to St. Pete and ran by Publix on my way home. I needed some things for my crockpot dinner. Can you believe that in this whole selection of chili pastes and chili sauces…
every single one had sugar in the ingredient list? Oh well, no chili sauce or chili paste in my crockpot Mongolian beef. I just used some dried chili flakes instead.
then made my lunch.
The afternoon was spent cleaning bathrooms (joy), doing laundry, picking up Mack from school and Cal from the bus stop, and driving Cal to karate.
Dinner turned out great! I served the Mongolian beef to the boys on brown rice…
and for myself I made some “cauliflower rice”, basically using the method found here.
It doesn’t taste like rice (duh) but it’s pretty tasty. The boys loved the Mongolian beef and luckily we have enough leftovers for another dinner.
Chad had to work late so we didn’t get to go on the family evening walk. After the boys went to bed he and I watched the latest episode of The Following. I like the show, but you definitely have to suspend your disbelief. I don’t think anybody could really exert such mind control over so many people. Kind of like Hannibal Lechter.
That’s all I have for day 24. I feel like the end of my Whole30 is so close! I’m sure I’ll write more about my post-Whole30 plans later, but basically I am very encouraged with the lack of hip pain I have been having despite running. To that end I do plan to keep up this basic way of eating at least until after the Sarasota Half Marathon. Of course there will be exceptions, like a big girls’ weekend that I have coming up (alcohol!). I also don’t plan to be so cautious when eating out and sweating every single little detail.
