Sunday Funday

This morning I used another one of my Christmas presents and made belgian waffles for breakfast.

I used the whole grain recipe from the booklet that came with the waffle iron and they turned out great. I made two plain (for Chad and me) and two with mini chocolate chips for the boys. I’m psyched to play around with this recipe and make some interesting waffles. The best part about the waffle iron? You don’t have to wash it. Just wipe it off with a paper towel. The directions said so! 🙂

After breakfast the boys and I went to the gym. I did 30 min. on the elliptical and then Bodypump, which was great. (BTW – Banana Bitch was there. Poll…do you wear multiple tennis bracelets and full-face make up when you work out?) I’m planning to run four miles tomorrow and get back to running at least three times a week. I did have an appointment with the bathroom contractor for 11:00 tomorrow, but I’m going to see if we can do it later in the afternoon so I can take the kids to the MLK Day parade. I forgot they were out of school when I made the appointment. Doh. Now I’m working on not being productive for the rest of the day.

So last night was my second time meeting with the Secret Society. All the cool cats were there.

Obviously there was some sort of football theme being observed, but I’m not sure why. I just went along with it because I am still a newbie and unsure of my position in the society.

I was rocking the twin ponies, just like I did when I was a kid, as some of you probably remember. I wore this hairstyle for years.

1979, 10 years old. Almost too old for the twin ponies. Maybe the last year I had them? Even Cindy Brady gave them up eventually.

Anyways, back to the Secret Society. There was much ritual, sacrament and libation. And again, for some reason a football theme.

It was mystical.

My new camera can do all kinds of fun stuff. Anyway, although I can’t really disclose what happens at these gatherings of the inner sanctum, I now understand that they are thematic. I think the ponies partially inspired the next meeting’s theme…PJ’s and ponytails. Stay tuned.
