Let’s scrap Monday

First of all, I keep forgetting to post this on the blog, so let me do that first. A couple of weeks ago Mack made a video about some Monsuno characters he made out of Legos and posted it on YouTube. He did the video completely by himself with his little point and shoot camera, and I helped him edit it. It’s less than two minutes long, and he would be thrilled with more views (he already has over 100 views). He has gotten two comments, and would really appreciate more! One of the comments is somewhat negative, but we’ve talked about how when you put yourself out there on the internet, you have to be prepared for criticism and take it with a grain of salt. I think that’s a good lesson to learn early on, especially in this day and age. He’s all good with both negative and positive feedback. Anyway, here’s the video:

Mack’s first video on YouTube

This morning Chewie and I walked the boys to school, then I hurried to shower and get to the lab to have blood drawn for a doctor’s appointment next week.

I was fasting since dinner last night, which includes no coffee, so I made sure that I brought my fix with me to have immediately after having blood drawn.

As I inhaled the first cup of coffee I drove to St. Pete Bagel to get some food stat.

This cute guy was patiently waiting outside the door for his human.

I have always loved Bernese Mountain Dogs because a family in my hometown that we were friends with when I was growing up had them. They are the sweetest gentle giants.

St. Pete Bagel has the best bagels in St. Pete, in my opinion.

I got a bacon, egg, and cheese on whole wheat bagel and it was awesome. Then I ran by Publix to grab some salads to have for lunch later with my friend Andrea. I was headed to her house for a morning of scrapbooking and fellowship.

Really the scrapbooking is just an excuse for us to hang out and we spent so much time talking that I only got one page done.

When I scrapbook I just sort of randomly pull out some old photos and then have fun playing with paper and stickers. I don’t scrapbook in order, or worry about making it perfect or logical or anything. It’s just a creative and social outlet for me. Those pictures are from a girls’ trip with my sister and high school friends in 2008. We call ourselves “the Bitties” because my Mom gets together with her college friends every year and my sister and I have always called them “the Bitties” also. We’re the second generation of Bitties, I guess.

After leaving Andrea’s I stopped by Publix (again) to get some groceries for the week.

I dropped the groceries off at home and went to pick the boys up from school. The afternoon has been homework, snacks, reading, laundry, kitchen cleaning…the usual.

Chad bought me these tulips on Saturday for Easter, and they are already starting to fade:

Anybody have tips on how to make tulips last longer? I know they keep growing and I need to trim the stems.

Not much else to report today. I finally updated my “Still Running” page. Speaking of running, does anybody watch New Girl? Chad dropped the show a long time ago, but I’ve still been watching it. I thought the last episode was hilarious. Jess and Cece run a 10K for charity and I was LOL’ing. At one point some guy comes up between them and says, “Get out of my way, I’m peeing!” Too funny. Jess and Cece come dragging up to the finish line as they are taking it down and the time clock reads over three hours. Jess says, “My shoes are filled with blood.”

I think I liked it because it ridiculously made me feel superior to Zooey Deschanel and her character’s best friend who is a model. Does the general public feel like a 10K is that tough? I guess I did before I got into running. Now I’m all jaded and have no perspective. I usually feel like the slowest, most pathetic runner ever, so the show perked me up about my running. I know that’s silly, but it’s true.

I guess that’s all I’ve got for today. Cya.
