Whole 30, Day 5

No headache today! Hooray! Well, I could feel the slightest bit of a headache coming on at bedtime, but then I slept it off.

This morning I didn’t wake up with raging hunger, so I didn’t eat breakfast (or half of breakfast) before Chewie and I walked Mack to school.

After breakfast I headed to Gold’s for Bodypump. Did you know that empty toilet paper rolls could be used as a decorative element?

This morning’s Bodypump class (three days in a row…yay me!) was possibly the worst pump class I have ever taken, and I’ve taken hundreds. The instructor was never on beat with the music, was impossible to follow, and several times just completely forgot the routine and stopped and said, “I forget what comes next.” I may be looking for something besides Bodypump on Friday mornings. Still, I got in a workout. But why do people who can’t follow a beat decide that they should be group fitness instructors? I am going to be reviewing group fitness classes for PeerFit and I definitely need to review this one.

After Bodypump I ran by Target and Party City and had great parking karma.

After I got home and showered I made “not peanut sauce” from Paleo Comfort Foods that was going to be part of dinner.

This is like a Thai peanut sauce, but made with almond butter instead of peanut butter. I also used coconut aminos instead of fish sauce and left out the honey.

After making the “not peanut sauce” I made lunch.

That is romaine, spinach, roasted (half burnt) sweet potato, mushrooms, leftover crockpot Carnitas. This is the last of the Carnitas. As delicious as it was, I’m glad it’s gone. I was getting tired of it. Next time, I’m freezing the leftovers in portions.

The afternoon was spent prepping dinner, sorting stuff on my desk, picking up Mack, and I can’t remember what else because I didn’t take pictures. Where does the time go? After picking Cal up from the bus stop and taking the car pool home, the boys and I headed downtown to Fit2Run to pick up our race packets for the Glow Run tomorrow.

We’re all four doing it (mostly walking) and it should be a blast.

Once home I finished up making dinner.

Chicken and bell pepper skewers, snow peas, roasted acorn squash, and “not peanut” sauce.

Awesomeness. Everyone loved the “not peanut” sauce except for Mack. There is a bunch leftover so I’ll be putting it on everything for the next few days, I’m sure.

We all went on the family evening walk tonight.
