Getting trampoLEAN with AIRobics at Airheads
Thanks to my friend Jess of Cuban Running Crisis, I had the opportunity to try out a trampoline fitness class at Airheads Trampoline Arena in Tampa today.
I tried a trampoline fitness class at Fitbloggin’ and even though that was on small, individual trampolines, I knew that this class was going to be no joke.
Airheads has some awesome logo designers!
The facility is obviously geared towards kids and has a large game area and concessions.
Speaking of concessions, they had a nice continental breakfast laid out for us upon our arrival.
I met up with a few of my blogger friends…
(Jess, Jenny, Denise, me and Heather)
and we couldn’t wait to start bouncing.
We were there to sweat and this was our torture chamber:
We started off with just some basic jumping, getting used to the trampolines.
It seems like the trampoline would do some of the work for you, but it only takes about thirty seconds of bouncing before you feel your heart rate climbing.
We did lunges…
mountain climbers…
high knees bouncing…
skiing…
jumping jacks…
all the while doing lots and lots of bouncing.
See Heather way in the background there?
I think she was having fun.
It was a really tough workout, but so fun.
We took a couple of breaks to catch our breath and the nice folks at Airheads offered us chilled towels!
Here’s Jenny with our awesome instructors, Kim and Frankie:
Back to work with high knees running in place…
jumping on one leg (then the other)…
flutter kicks…
Did I mention that all of this was being recorded by Gayle Guyardo of NewsChannel8?
planks with pushups and turns…
It was definitely a good workout.
squats…
burpees…
and lots and lots of jumping.
Running!
Balancing…
arms and shoulders…
more planks!
More running!
Finally we’re done and we stretch.
The workout was really challenging and really fun.
I think we all had a blast.
Thank you to Rich Heruska, one of the founders of Airheads, for having the Tampa Bay Bloggers over to bounce today!
Rich was a really nice guy.
He gave us a bunch of free passes to Airheads to give to our readers! So I have two pairs to give away…
I’m going to pick two winners, one pair of tickets for each winner.
These passes can be redeemed for a whole session of open jumping or for a fitness class. One for you and a friend! I promise you this will be a fun workout and you’ll burn tons of calories. My friend Jenny’s heart rate monitor said she burned 600 calories!
You can use the passes at any of the Airheads locations:
They also have an option to have a child bounce in a partitioned area while you do a fitness class! So you could use one ticket for you and one ticket for your child. Just leave a comment indicating that you are interested in bouncing and sweating, and I’ll have Mack draw a name out of a bowl on Sunday, February 3rd. If I remember.
[Update: This contest is now closed and the winners have been notified. Congratulations Kim and Christina!]
Check out the Airheads website.

p.s. The first trampoline fitness class at Airheads is always FREE! So go check out a free class, then use the passes you win for two more free classes…or one more for you and a friend!
Excellent! So much fun!! Loved the class 🙂 And dang girl, your pics are AWESOME!!

Mack will draw names out of a bowl, as usual 🙂 I’m not ready for Rafflecopter yet.
haha! And that is why I love you girl! You are too funny!
I bounced around in their location here in Linebaugh and it was a blast – and even for fun, we were sweating bullets by the end! – I’m looking at the dodgeball sessions…
We were at the Linebaugh location also. Dodgeball sounds awesome! I was amazed at how sweaty we got. Such a great workout.
This is fantastic information. I have been watching their website and hoping something would pop up! Glad to see your blog, and I’d love win a pair of those tickets! Thanks!!
I wish I could have gone, looks like a BLAST!
Looks like so much fun and you get a workout too!
I would love to go. Tickets would be awesome. I just moved here from Indiana and we have nothing like this. I have been wanting to go so badly. Kim Shephard, Clearwater, Florida
The class sounds like so much fun. I just wish it was 5 minutes away. LOL!
Awesome recap!! I had so much fun and it was so nice to meet you!
That looks really interesting. I’d love those tickets!
Great recap! I’ve wondered about their fitness classes before.
This looks so fun (and tough)! Sorry I couldn’t make it (pesky work). Excellent photos (as usual)! I hope Mack picks my name out of the bowl. :c)
I would love to try a fitness class there! I’ve only been once just for regular jumping and it was so much fun and already a good workout just having fun.

I did the class last week 4 the 1st time and it was very intense! But its great! Its a workout that you know will make a difference if you stick with it! Im very overweight and was hard 4 me to keep up but no1 made me feel like I was slowing the class and everyone was very supportive! Can’t wait to go back
That’s awesome! I thought it was definitely challenging, but very fun. I’m glad you are enjoying it…keep it up and good for you!
