Whole30, Day 27

This morning I hopped out of bed at 4:15 a.m. No really, I did. I have been feeling really amazing lately. Kind of euphoric. I’m afraid that I have become one of those Whole30 acolytes who believe it’s the best thing ever and will talk about it endlessly. Regardless, I had no problem getting out of bed when my alarm went off.

If you read my late-breaking post yesterday you know that I was on my way to the Best Damn Race.

I packed a breakfast to eat in the car on the drive there.

I smooshed the banana into the almond butter and ate it with a spoon.

The race was awesome. It was a totally fabulous morning.

I ran/walked a gorgeous eight miles without hip pain and got to hang out with so many friends.

When I got home from the race I iced my hip for thirty minutes then took an awesome hot shower. After being cold all morning then icing my hip I really needed to defrost.

Then I made lunch. I felt like I wanted something “special”, so I made salmon patties.

Yes, salmon patties seem “special” to me now. I love them and they take a tiny bit of preparation and then you have a crunchy, fried crabcake-like protein for lunch.

I finally got the coconut flour ratio perfect (only one heaping teaspoon) and the salmon patties came out beautifully.

I topped them with a dollop of homemade paleo mayo and drizzled vinaigrette on top of the tomatoes, peppers, golden beets, lettuce, and spinach. This was truly a “special” lunch.

Chad made grilled pork tenderloin for dinner.

I made an awesome semi-homemade creamy Italian salad dressing by mixing a spoonful of homemade paleo mayo with a spoonful of Garlic Gold vinaigrette. It was delicious.

My legs and hips are tired and a little sore from my run, but none of that familiar hip pain I’ve had for the last year. Chad gave me a leg and foot rub while we watched The Dictator. Husband of the year.
