Apple stack cake Friday

Quick reminder…I’m going to have Mack pick the winners of the FREE 7-day fun passes for Airheads Trampoline Arena tomorrow.

So if you’d like a chance to win one of the two passes that I have to give away, be sure to leave a comment HERE. This contest is now closed. The winners have been notified. Congratulations Ali and Jessica!

So where was I? Oh yeah, Wednesday was Chad’s birthday. He decided he wanted hot dogs for dinner from Luke’s Coney Island.

Mack and I ran by there while Cal was in karate. See the hours on the door behind Mack? Luckily we didn’t dawdle too much because we walked in at 5:28 not realizing that from Sunday to Wednesday they close at 5:30. The owner said, “We close in two minutes, but I’ll make your order any way.” Hmm. I thought that was kind of rude. That place is always empty and we are returning customers. If the doors are unlocked, you serve your customers. Anyway, the hot dogs were good.

Chad is now 44.

He requested an apple stack cake from Publix.

I hate to brag, but I did the lettering myself. Can you tell?

This photo says, “When are you going to stop taking photos so we can eat cake, Mom?”

The apple stack cake was a good choice.

At seven inches it looks tiny, but it was just enough for everyone to have a slice, then for everyone to have another slice the next day, then an extra one for Chad.

Next up was presents, and Mack insisted that Chad open his first.

It was a piece of paper and Mack presented it by saying, “Who needs a coupon book when you can have a coupon page?”

My favorites are the two coupons for “good behavings” and the coupon for “10 go out side so I can have some peace and quites” (sic).

Next was Cal’s gift. He has been into making 3-dimensional paper sculptures lately, utilizing lots of scotch tape.

My gifts to Chad:

The little wooden sculpture is something we saw and liked when we went to the MUSE body art show at ARTpool. After we left Chad commented that we should have bought it as a remembrance of our evening, so I went back a little while later and bought it for his birthday. I think it is meant to hold CD’s, but it could hold anything really.

I think Chad enjoyed his birthday…it was just what he requested.

Thursday morning I went to Bodypump, where they need to clean the mirrors.

Next up on Thursday was the blogger preview event at the new Container Store in Tampa.

That was awesome. Don’t forget to leave a comment on that post if you would like to win some of my Container Store swag.

Thursday afternoon Mack and I ran by Fit2Run St. Petersburg to pick up my race packet for the Sarasota Half Marathon on Sunday.

I guess it’s really going to happen.

I’m feeling ill-prepared, anxious, and excited. Some of my IRunMommies and I are going down Saturday night and spending the night beforehand which will be fun. I’m excited to do a race on a course I’ve never done before. I love Sarasota. I’ll be wearing my pink and green IRunMommies uniform, which looks like this in case you have forgotten:

Except I won’t be wearing the long sleeves underneath and I’m going to wear these socks since it will be St. Patrick’s Day:

Knock on wood, looks like we’re going to have great weather! The forecast for Sarasota on Sunday morning at race time:

Okay, caught up again. Or maybe I should say, OK, caught up again. My editor (hardass) and I have been having debates about this grammatical issue lately. The grammarist indicates that either one is OK, okay, but that OK appears more frequently in edited text. Whatev.
