All I do is eat and eat

Or at least that’s what it seems like since I didn’t take many pictures other than food in the last 24 hours. But since I challenged myself to blog every day in October, you get to see my food. What else is there?

I was planning to eat the last of the Paleo Pad Thai last night, but Chad saved me from eating it for three meals and killed it when he got home from work.

I was making a meat sauce for the boys and for leftovers, so I ate some of that for dinner. For the meat sauce I used Trader Joe’s marinara sauce as the base (the one that comes in a big can with a green label, not in a jar #NSNG), adding ground beef, onions, mushrooms, bell pepper, garlic, Italian Seasoning, and salt.

I made cheese tortellini for the boys. As soon as our current stock of pasta is gone, I don’t plan to buy any more. Chad can buy it and the boys can eat it, but I’m not going to buy it anymore.

We had broccolini from our Annie’s Organics share on the side with butter. I had some chunks of sweet potato with my meat sauce.

Last night Chad and I watched Sons of Anarchy on Tivo. This week’s episode was so good! Every episode is awesome. They are so long it’s like a mini movie. It’s definitely our favorite show right now. We also really love Homeland, and it has started off with a bang. We are also watching lots of the new shows to check them out…The Michael J. Fox Show, Mom, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Crazy Ones. I’m watching Hostages and The Blacklist without Chad. We have American Horror Story: Coven on Tivo but haven’t watched it yet.

This morning was the first taste of truly “cool” air that we have felt this year. It was up to the high 80’s by the afternoon, but this morning it was so nice. The humidity has dropped and it was the first morning that I didn’t break a sweat on our 3 mile round trip. We’ll be breaking out hoodies soon!

That’s cabbage sautéed with onions and a little bit of bacon, berries with goat cheese crumbles, and eggs. Breakfast is always my favorite.

I don’t know what I did all day at home. Laundry. Cleaning. Organizing. Nothing photo-worthy apparently. And if I don’t take a photo, I can’t remember much.

Lunch was a salad with meat sauce dumped on it (I added a few olives to the meat sauce for lunch), avocado, and homemade ranch dressing.

The afternoon was spent juggling boys, driving all over the place, a teacher conference with Mack’s teacher (routine), karate, Tour de Pizza for the boys. I did order the gluten free pizza this time. I didn’t realize how much more expensive it was than their regular pizza! Usually I just get a 14” cheese and it’s $11.75. The gluten free was $19! I don’t think any of us has an intolerance to gluten, but at least it’s not wheat which the boys eat too much of as it is. The crust is made by Sami’s Bakery and is millet and flax.

For my dinner I used my spiralizer, and made some zucchini noodles, or zoodles.

I just sautéed the zoodles with a little bit of olive oil, salt, and garlic powder. I finished off the meat sauce with my zoodles.

Now Chad is off to play pool, and I’m settling in for Project Runway tonight.
