Shiny Bathtub Tuesday

April 19, 2011 at 7:52 pm

I had an uneventful walk to school this morning. No spoons 🙁 . When I got home I made the exact same breakfast as yesterday.

Steel cut oats made with almond milk, blueberries, strawberries, pineapple, banana, toasted pecans and coconut. Eggeaters with Frank’s hot sauce. Coffee x3 with splenda and skim milk. My oatmeal is purple because it’s back to frozen blueberries. Fresh ones are no longer cheap.

After breakfast I sped to the gym and did 40 minutes on the elliptical and then Bodyflow. Bodyflow was amazing as always. Seriously, you should do yoga. Specifically a flow type of yoga. So good. I was really tight and a little sore from my 7 mile run yesterday, and this just made everything better.

After the gym and before showering I cleaned my tub and shower. As is well-established on this blog, I am a terrible housekeeper. I do keep the kitchen fairly clean, but the rest of the house…not so much. The bathroom usually has to get at least slightly offensive before I clean it, or if company is coming over I’ll clean it (sorry Barb, didn’t know you were coming in the house the other day 😛 ).

Mack has been wanting to take a bath instead of a shower and I wouldn’t let him because the tub was not clean. Yeah, I maybe felt a twinge of guilt about that. Just a twinge, though. But tonight he can take a bath!

It’s all shiny and smells good now 🙂 .

Also, I consider this an additional workout since it was so dirty. Lots of bending and stretching and serious elbow grease was involved.

After cleaning the tub and surround I enjoyed it by taking a shower. Then I made lunch. Again, exactly the same thing I had yesterday.

Big salad with CSA lettuces and kohlrabi, baby arugula, mushrooms, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, red bell pepper, celery and lite ranch dressing. Oh, the arugula and celery were different than yesterday! Exciting. See, I’m not boring. Also beef and cabbage curry leftovers which got dumped on top. This time you get to see the lovely gladware it was nuked in, as this is the last of it.

After lunch I folded laundry while watching Top Chef Masters. Isn’t Curtis Stone a wonderful host? He is so dreamy.

As soon as the boys arrived home via carpool we headed out to karate.

I just dropped the boys off and then I headed to Lowe’s and Home Depot to look at closet guts.

I went to both stores (they are right across the street from each other) but ended up not buying anything. At least now I have a better idea of what I need to do. What a PITA.

Then I headed back to karate to pick the boys up. Here’s Cal in the parents viewing room at karate while Mack was in class. When I walked in I turned the volume down on the television so he leaned in and watched about ten inches from the screen. Because he is not close enough to the TV in this picture.

We had leftover 10-bean soup from the freezer for dinner. That Crazy Cajun’ mix is even delicious two months later. Now we’re heading out for our evening family walk. See ya tomorrow.
