Hello Blog

Nice to see you again. I’ve been reading alot of blogs lately, so it sort of made me want to visit my own again.

We’ve had a fun summer, but it’s coming to an end. The boys went to Boyd Hill nature camp one week, and are currently in their second week (not consecutive) of karate camp. Other than that, we have gone to the beach, the pool, the aquarium, friend’s pools…lots of fun stuff. Lots of just doing nothing, too.

We spent one week in Charlotte visiting my sister, BIL, and new little nephew Cody. He is so sweet! The boys really fell in love with him and had a great time spending lots of time with Grandma and Grandaddy.

I’m once again trying to get back on the straight and narrow with the diet and exercise thing. It’s been pretty hit and miss over the summer. But I’m back on the bandwagon now, keeping my mind set on the holidays (I want a pretty new dress for the Avineon office Xmas party in D.C.).

Today after dropping the boys off at karate camp I had to visit the eye doctor for a visual field test. My ocular pressure has always been on the high side, so I have to do all these annual tests to monitor it for pre-glaucoma. Everything was OK, but the Dr. wants me to see an glaucoma specialist to have some new high-tech baseline studies done of my optic nerve so it can be better monitored. Joy. I so hate doctor appointments of any kind. Such a time and money suck. Oh well. Have to be proactive, I guess.

Well blog, maybe I’ll visit you again soon. Maybe not. I always have to be journaling somewhere, but I’ve been keeping a secret diary on Evernote, which is easy to update from my phone. Since nobody reads this anyway…

Gramma left yesterday morning, and it was a teary goodbye all the way around. She left both of the boys with an aquarium photo, and they’ve both been keeping them close by for frequent reference. We had a wonderful visit and miss her so much already. She and Chad left at the same time as I left to take the boys (and Joey) to a makeup swimming class. Both the classes were a bit advanced for the boys, but they hung in there and I was very proud of them. Mack was excited because it was his first time going in the big pool for swimming class! He wanted to jump off the diving board, but Mrs. Walker told him he wasn’t ready (he has to be able to swim to the ladder first). But he jumped in and hand-walked around the edge to the ladder. He hung in there!

Then we went to Target to get a few things, then picked up Jillian at scrapbooking camp. I also made some filmstrip die cuts there (Whim-so-doodle) to make Cal’s birthday party invitations with. I made the fronts of the cards during nap and I think they turned out pretty cute:

Before picking up Jillian, we had to have an electrician stop by because Gramma and I blew out the electricity in the boys room (and a few other sockets) by both trying to blow-dry our hair at the same time. Turns out it was just a tripped circuit, even though it didn’t look like any were tripped. Oh well. Took the electrician five minutes and cost $65. Whatever. We stayed home in the afternoon and I worked on the invites and not much else.

Today the boys and Joey and I went to see Barnyard at the free movies. Then we got Chick-fil-a in the drive thru and picked up Jillian at scrapbooking camp. We had lunch at home, then the Zawacki’s went home, Mack took a nap (and so did I) and then we went to karate. After karate, we went to CVS for sunscreen and to Publix. Fascinating, right?

Here’s a layout I finished tonight:
